Intimistic song, rich arrangements (banjo, lute, strings,...) with echoes of folk, indie-rock and classical music

The Scottish- Italian band Kettle of Kites present their debut album 'Loan'. Nine songs uniting acoustic and electronic moods with rhythmic and dynamic complexity, complexity which is mirrored in the journey of the formation of the band. Kettle of Kites is at its core a project based on the compositions of Tom Stearn : lyricist, guitarist, and singer of the group. Through various incarnations, the group reached full fruition in Italy thanks to the coming together of the musicians Pietro Martinelli (double bass and electric bass), Marco Giongrandi (guitar, banjo and vocals) and Roberto Tocci (drums) who now form the current lineup.

Recorded in Genoa, Italy, the album was then sent to Australia to be Mixed by Ben Talbot-Dunn and Nick Huggins at the studio 'a pocket full of stones'. The international nature of the album's creation adds to the rich variety of the instruments used, from double bass and lute to banjo, strings and brass,  which translate into a depth of sound, expansive in colour and ambition. In describing the songs one can hear elements of folk, indie-rock and alternative music, with echoes of classical influences, all of which is englobed in an atmosphere suffused with intimacy.
