Mâäk Quintet was founded in the mid-90s as a rather classical jazz quartet around trumpeter Laurent Blondiau. Since then, it has gradually grown into a versatile avant-gardist jazz collective with international ties.
On the streets or in a concert hall, acoustic or amplified, in front of a crowd or in an intimate setting... Mâäk stands for vitality, dynamics and musical freedom. Always within a clearly defined framework, their music remains wonderfully unpredictable. The musicians are constantly experimenting with new sonorous, rhythmic and harmonic elements.
This concert was made possible through the much-appreciated support of Lundis D’Hortense.
