GOA Quartet is a relatively young project, originated by four students from the Conservatory of Brussels. Saxophonist Matthieu Ablain, pianist Simon Groppe, bassist Nathan Van Brande and drummer Pierre Floch composed a collective repertoire that partially grew from a long residency in the Sounds Jazz Club and concerts in Theater Marni and Music Village to name a few.

The foursome draws inspiration from Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane, among others, but the influence of contemporary musicians such as Brad Mehldau and Ari Hoenig also sounds through in their music.
