Born in Lorient, France, from a martinican father and a grenadian mother, Viktor Lazlo’s passion for music and writing began quite early. Violin and ballet lessons completed her training as a stage performer until the age of seventeen. She graduated from the European high school with a large knowledge of foreign languages, then started history of art and archeology studies at Brussels University. Discovered by Belgium producer Lou Deprijk, she initiated her singing career with the recording of original soundtrack for Jean Pierre Mocky’s “A mort L’arbitre” in 1984. Over fifteen albums and compilations followed, sold in more than thirty countries, several duets (with Florent Pagny, Arno, Biagio Antonacci, Maggie Riley…), five gold records, international tours (Germany, Austria, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, Turkey…), over twentyfive movies, including Italian, German and Spanish productions.

She has published her first novel, “La Femme qui Pleure” in 2010 with Albin Michel rewarded with the Prix Charles Brisset 2011, and a second novel, “My Name Is Billie Holiday”, completing a three parts tribute to the legendary artist. Third novel, Les Tremblements Essentiels was published in 2015 along with multiple short stories in various collections.

Les Passagers du Siècle, her new novel has been published in January 2018 with Grasset and is currently being adapted for an 8 episode TV serie.

The musical “Loin de Paname”, created in Paris in 2003 showed her the way to renew the pleasure of combining both her singing and acting skills.

The musical “Billie Holiday”, staged by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt, created in Paris in November 2012 has been nominated Best Musical of the year and was performed at the Rive Gauche Theatre in Paris for 80 nights. A worldwide tour, including Europe, South Africa, Canada, and Asia started in June 2013 through 2014, has just ended in April 2015.

Viktor Lazlo is currently touring a new show, singing the three Ladies of Jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday) and working on her next novel.
Her last album “Woman” was released in november 2017.
