JazzUp, the new jazz conference for professionals, makes the festival the place to be for the industry, confirming its role as a place for discovery and networking.
The new busker stages added flavor to the festival, allowing the programmers to maintain a clear line on the main stages while bringing swing, blues, old school jazz and New Orleans style brass bands to the streets.
City of Brussels confirms support for Lotto Brussels Jazz Weekend
Philippe Close, Mayor of Brussels: “It is great to see how this festival brings people together and connects through music. People who live or work in Brussels, tourists, music lovers from outside the city... They enjoy music together, filling the squares and streets. A free city festival gives oxygen to the city, ensures quality of life and strengthens the social fabric. The importance of culture in public space cannot be underestimated.”
Delphine Houba, Councilor for Culture, Tourism, Major Events and Municipal Equipment: "I am proud that Brussels has become a major jazz city. I would like to thank the many partner locations for ‘Brusselising’ the capital of Europe to the sounds of brass instruments and pianos."
